Anthurium Regale

The Anthurium Regale has to be my favourite Anthurium with its large, green veiny leaves. I imagine you could use it as an umbrella on a rainy day!

We have had 3 inflos on our largest Anthurium Regale. We collected pollen on our first but failed on pollinating our second inflo. The window where the female part is receptive seems to be very short for the Anthrium Regale. It was only producing sap for a about 3 days before it dried up. Unlike some of the other Anthuriums, it also didn’t produce as much sap.

Below are photos of the inflorescence as it changes over time. Pollen was collected around the time the third photo was taken where the inflorescence transitioning in colour.

Our third inflo was succesfully pollinated and has since produced berries. Berries were smaller than we expected. They are smaller than the Clarinervium and Bessae Aff seeds. We found that the berries were white colour with purple tip when mature unlike most other anthurium berries which appear more rounded on the outside.
